"UNEMPLOYMENT AND ISLAM: BRINGING UP HOPE AND FINDING SOLUTIONS"

Beat unemployment

Today the whole world is facing the problem of unemployment including the believers of Islam, the reasons behind it can be more than one and genuine but Islam has good guidance to individuals facing this difficult situation. In this blog post, I will delve into the Islamic principles, teachings, and real-life solutions that can be useful for individuals, to navigate unemployment with constant hope for productive and valuable opportunities.

Islamic Perspectives on Unemployment and Work

Islam places a high value on work and views it as a way for people to perform their obligations, find nourishment, and give back to society. The value of employment is emphasized in Islamic teachings, and people are urged to take an active role in their communities. Islam believes that employment is a way to meet one's religious commitments as well as a way to provide for oneself. Muslims can support themselves and their loved ones and perform their obligation to support and maintain their houses by working honestly and within the law. Islam places a strong emphasis on the idea of "Barakah," which is Arabic for blessings and prosperity.

Muslims are urged to consider their labor to be an act of worship when done honestly, morally, and with a feeling of accountability. Muslims can seek Allah's pleasure and experience spiritual fulfillment in everyday life by giving their all in their careers.

Muslims can learn from the Prophet Muhammad's (Peace be upon Him) life. He worked as a trader and then as a leader, exemplifying the value of actively participating in society and making a good contribution to its advancement. Muslims are urged to model their commitment to social welfare, work ethic, and dedication to charity.

Trust in Divine Wisdom

Islam places a great deal of emphasis on the idea of “tawakkul" (dependence on Allah), especially during difficult or unemployed times. It teaches Muslims to seek career possibilities with all possible diligence while putting their faith in Allah's almighty plan. Islam emphasizes that even though people must move proactively to find work, they should find comfort and inner tranquility in knowing that Allah controls all results. Muslims can face the hardships of unemployment with perseverance, optimism, and the conviction that Allah's direction and provision would materialize in due course by fusing earnest effort with unshakeable faith in Allah's wisdom and mercy.

It must be a good sign for you if you are continuously struggling but not getting enough rewards. Allah wants you to raise your strength and stability on success. If you will get everything so easily, it could make you arrogant or overconfident but Allah wants you to be a good Muslim with success, so be patient and remain consistent in a struggle. It is not just bringing you towards success but developing you personally.

Maintaining the emotional balance

Numerous emotional difficulties, including anxiety, low self-esteem, and despair, can arise as a result of unemployment. Given the significance of these difficulties, it is essential to carefully address them and look for support from a variety of sources. Islam provides consolation and inspiration through its principles in trying times. Muslims are exhorted to draw courage and resiliency from their faith. In times of difficulty, finding consolation in acts of worship, recital of the Quran, and prayer can be a relief.

Islam provides direction and support to help people get through unemployment, which may be a difficult and emotionally taxing situation. People can find hope and strength in trying circumstances by adhering to the Islamic values of trusting in Allah's plan, seeking comfort in worship, and finding consolation in the teachings of the Quran. It is crucial to keep in mind that difficulties are transient and that Allah rewards those who are patient and persistent. Islam encourages the value of community and caring for one another, which also encourages seeking assistance from close companions and mental health experts. Unemployed people can find comfort and determination to overcome their difficulties and restore their confidence by incorporating faith, looking for assistance, and preserving emotional well-being.

FORGIVENESS IN ISLAM: BRACING THE RELATIONSHIPS AND NURTURING THE HEARTS

Forgiveness in islam

Islam places a high value on forgiveness, which includes the act of forgiving people and getting rid of grudges. It is an idea that has strong roots in the Quran's teachings and the customs of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). This article seeks to put light on the Islamic concept of forgiveness and demonstrate how it may improve both people and relationships. We will gain a better understanding of forgiveness's significance in mending emotional wounds and creating stronger links between individuals and neighborhoods by investigating the Islamic perspective and prophetic lectures on it.

 QURANIC PERSPECTIVE

  • Be merciful

We have not created the heavens and the earth and everything in between except for a purpose. And the Hour is certain to come, so forgive graciously. (Surah Al-Hijir: 85).

The above-mentioned verse of the Holy Quran commands us to be merciful and gracious with forgiveness. If we want forgiveness from Allah Almighty for our sins, we must have to forgive our brothers, sisters, friends, relatives, or neighbors.

  • Forgiveness is to embracing kindness and trusting in Allah

It was thanks to Allah's mercy that you were gentle to them. Had you been rough, hard-hearted, they would surely have scattered away from you. So, pardon them, and pray for their forgiveness, and take counsel from them in matters of importance. And when you are resolved on a course of action place your trust in Allah; surely Allah loves those who put their trust (in Him). (Surah Ali 'Imran 159).

We do not forgive people when we realize their harsh sayings of them for us or anything makes us down. Is this like not trusting in the presence of Allah? Any person who does wrong to anyone will be asked one day by Allah Almighty then why we do not let these people. So, forgiveness is also an act of trusting in Allah Almighty.

PROPHETIC EXAMPLE

As the personification of mercy and compassion, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) demonstrated forgiveness throughout his life. Even though he was subjected to severe suffering and persecution, he showed mercy to even his adamant detractors and forgave those who had wronged him. The Prophet showed unflinching mercy, pardoning those who plotted his death as well as the Ta'ifites who stoned him. His greatest act of mercy occurred when he forgave the people who had driven him and his supporters from their homes during his rule of Makkah. By illustrating the transforming effects of forgiveness, the strength in forgiving others, and the capacity to mend hearts and strengthen bonds, the forgiveness of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) serves as an everlasting example.

REAL LIFE EXAMPLE

  • Significance of Forgiveness in Healing Emotional Wounds

Imagine Maidah, a young woman who has experienced a severe loss due to a close friend's treachery. She struggled with bitterness and hatred for months, unable to move on from the hurt her friend's actions had caused. Maidah’s heart would fill with resentment whenever she saw or thought about her friend, which harmed her emotional health.

One day, Maidah stumbled upon a Quranic verse that discussed forgiveness:

"And let them forgive and overlook. Wouldn't it be nice if Allah forgave you? (brief) (Surah An-Nur: 22)

After giving these remarks some thought, Maidah understood the significance of forgiveness in Islam and how it would help her recover from her emotional wounds. Maidah decided to start the process of forgiving with a sad heart. She contacted back to her friend, being open and honest about her emotions while also expressing a wish to repair their friendship. Maidah decided to forgive her buddy and let go of her grudge.

Maidah noticed a significant change in herself when she forgave her friend. Gradually, the weight of hurt and rage vanished, allowing room for healing and calm. Maidah emotional scars started to heal, and she noticed that she was feeling better overall.

By extending forgiveness, Maidah not only broke free from the bonds of bitterness but also made room for the prospect of restoring mutual respect and advancing her friendship. She discovered through forgiveness that overcoming emotional scars calls for bravery, sensitivity, and a readiness to let go of the past. This narrative serves as an illustration of how forgiveness can help to mend emotional wounds. Islam asserts that showing mercy is a symbol of strength and fortitude rather than a sign of weakness. People like Maidah can regain their emotional health, find tranquility within, and create healthier relationships by accepting forgiveness.

PROFOUND LESSONS FROM HAJJ FOR THE MODERN MUSLIM

LESSONS FROM HAJJ

Hajj, the fifth pillar of Islam, is not only a physical exercise but has splendid spiritual experiences. Every year a large number of Muslims unite by their devotion and faith and embark on this sacred journey from all around the world. Alongside the customs and acts of worship, the Hajj teaches Muslims significant teachings about unity that have endured throughout history and provide insightful information for today's Muslims. We shall examine the unifying teachings that the Hajj teaches the faithful in this blog article as well as the transformational effect of the pilgrimage.

THE BROTHERHOOD OF HUMANITY

During Hajj, diverse groups of people from different backgrounds and local cultures unite by their faith or belief in Allah Almighty. it is a marvelous display of equality and unity. The simple white dress hides the race, social status, and nationality and all pilgrims stand in a row shoulder to shoulder, displaying unity, equality, and humility. This whole experience is a reminder to all, that in the eyes of Allah Almighty, "all individuals are equal", promoting the brotherhood of humanity among Muslims. A group of people from various walks of life participating in the same rites and traveling along the same spiritual path is proof of the Hajj's ability to unite people.

REMOVE BARRIERS

The Tawaf, or communal circle around the Kaaba, is performed by pilgrims during the Hajj. As pilgrims from all around the world gather at one focal point, this action denotes the erasure of all earthly barriers. The meaning of Tawaf instructs us to see over linguistic, cultural, and national boundaries to recognize the common thread of faith that binds Muslims all around the world. As pilgrims round the Kaaba, they see people from many racial and ethnic backgrounds coming together in worship and tearing down the barriers of prejudice and separation that predominate beyond the holy confines of Hajj.

MUTUAL SUPPORT AND COLLABORATION

Pilgrims depend on one another for help and collaboration throughout the Hajj. The difficulties encountered on the journey—physical demands, congested conditions, and shared facilities encourage pilgrims to help and show charity. This attitude of helping one another out emphasizes the worth of doing so, encouraging a sense of collective duty that goes beyond the journey. The connections made during Hajj help to reinforce the thread of solidarity across the Muslim community, whatever that may be by helping an old pilgrim or lending out supplies to other pilgrims.

GIVING UP EGO AND ARROGANCE

Each pilgrim must display humility on the Hajj. The removal of ostentatious clothing, donning of modest clothing, and the removal of worldly distinctions serve as reminders for people to put their egos aside and sincerely worship Allah. This modesty in Hajj promotes a stronger sense of togetherness and obedience to the Divine by imparting the important lesson of giving up the burden of ego and arrogance. The equality felt throughout Hajj acts as a sobering reminder that, regardless of one's status or accomplishments in the world, everyone is equal in Allah's eyes.

UNLEASHING THE SPLENDID SYMBOLISM OF SACRIFICE: LESSONS FROM EID-UL-ADHA

SACRIFICE ON EID UL ADHA

As the exuberant festival of Eid-ul-Adha is coming, we should delve deep into the theme of sacrifice and its profound symbolism in Islamic culture. Beyond the celebration and customary rituals, apprehending the true meaning of sacrifice can unleash the influential lessons that connect to all. Today, I will try my best to explore the compelling insights and interesting messages from the act of sacrifice,  to explain its importance and relevance to our lives in the fast-paced world.

The Sacrifice of Ibrahim: “A Testament of Adamant Faith”

The life of Prophet Ibrahim (A.S) was full of continuous trials that demonstrates his faith in the oneness of Allah Almighty in the face of adversity. The biggest trial of his life was opposition by his family member on the rejection of the concept of polytheism. Instead of following the concept like the whole society, he questioned the validity of idols and commenced the personal journey to seek a higher power. His rejection to follow the religion of his ancestors led to great conflict and opposition but his belief in the concept of true Worthy authority remained unshaken and he consistently tried to spread the message of Allah Almighty. Prophet Ibrahim (A.S) followed the command of Allah Almighty and attempted to sacrifice his beloved son. All the trials were planned to check the faith of Prophet Ibrahim (A.S) and for his personal growth. Prophet Ibrahim (A.S) never lost his courage and resilience to enlighten society with true faith. Now imagine the huge emotional turbulence, Prophet Ibrahim (A.S) has experienced on the command of Allah Almighty. He just identified that this command is from the high authority of wisdom and must be a better decision for my son’s life. The obedience of Prophet Ibrahim (A.S) to follow this command is unyielding.

The sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (A.S) teaches us the most beautiful and most important lessons;

1.  Believing in the Wisdom of Allah Almighty

Prophet Ibrahim (A.S) was able to submit to the will of Allah because he had a deep conviction that Allah's intentions were always superior to his own. Because of this trust, he was able to set aside his desires and comply with the order to sacrifice his adored kid. Similar to this, trusting in Allah's judgment can provide us comfort and direct us towards the greatest outcomes when we experience difficulties or discover ourselves in trying situations.

2. Perseverance and patience

Since Prophet Ibrahim (A.S) had a firm belief in Allah, his path was defined by patience and perseverance. He endured a great deal of opposition, rejection, and difficulty while maintaining his faith. Similar to this, when we face difficulties or setbacks, clinging to our faith in Allah's direction and relying on His might enables us to survive and conquer challenges, encouraging personal development and perseverance.

3. Increasing our faith

Our faith is strengthened and our relationship with Allah is deepened when we remain firm in our religion in the face of hardship. Prophet Ibrahim's (A.S) steadfast devotion in the face of various hardships showed his unshakeable dedication to Allah. Similarly, when we encounter challenges, clinging firmly to the presence of Allah.

The conclusion to summarize the lessons is;

1. When we remain confident in Allah's guidance amid difficulty, our trust and relationship with Him are strengthened.

2. We must hold firm to our convictions and have faith that Allah's purposes are greater than our own, just like Prophet Ibrahim (A.S) did.

3. Our unwavering faith gives us the fundamental character traits of patience and tenacity, which enable us to overcome obstacles and advance spiritually.

4. We find contentment and feel Allah's presence in our life when we have steadfast faith in Him and submit to His will.

The Significance of Compassion in Islam: Strengthening the Heart

Compassion in Islam

Walking along the roadsides, seeing homeless poor children, old people on the footpaths. I know you feel more compassion for them and most of us say;

When I will be a rich or I will have a good income, I will help these people. Some more determined will say; I will eradicate this poverty and distress from the world. Some of us do prayer to Allah on that scene, that may Allah make them able to help these poor people or may Allah help these poor people. All these thoughts and actions are really good. ALHAMDULILLAH

But being students or jobholders and having a lot of thoughts in our mind or due to busy routine or schedule we never try to show compassion to these poor people that we all can do.

When small poor children see the hostility or cold-heartedness around them, they evolve and grow the same as they observe in their environment and this is how we are developing our society.

Showing compassion is the most fundamental teaching of Islam. The first Kalmah that, we say to read the Quran or to start anything; is بِسْمِ ٱللّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ  (bi-semi llāhi r-raḥmāni r-raḥīmi),  here we praise Allah by calling Him the most Merciful and Compassionate. Then the very first chapter of the Holy Quran contains 2nd verse (ٱلرَّحْمٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ ); that is again praising Allah Almighty by calling Him Compassionate.

Our Prophet Muhammad has the title of Rahmatal-lil-Aalamin. The repetition of verses in the Holy Quran, having the word “reham" shows the importance of compassion. The Prophet (P.B.U.H) set a wonderful example of compassion and was the personification of this virtue.

The Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) said:

“I commenced the prayer, and I intended to make it long, but I heard a child crying, so I cut my prayer short because of the distress I knew his mother would be feeling.

The Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) kissed the children, took the orphan boy to His home and one day a Bedouin came to the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) and asked:

"Do you kiss your sons?"

"I have ten children and I have never kissed any of them."

The Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) looked at him and said:

“The one who does not show compassion will not be shown mercy.”

(Bukhari and Muslim)

This is how our prophet nurtured the hearts to develop more compassion in society. We all are living our lives depending on one another. If we will not be kind to each other, and to our environment, we may lose all the beauty of this life and most importantly the beauty of emotions or kindness. Try to show compassion to everyone, it will start controlling your anger and will make you happy in return.

Showing compassion is important and easy, let's show compassion to anyone, by just giving a cold-water bottle in this hot summer season. The person could be anyone, rich, poor, male or female. When you will do this, people may start developing the courage to show compassion to others as well. Let's try to nurture the heart. Let's try to make a bond of kindness, love, and respect.

“It is not the compassion of any one of you towards his friend, but it is compassion towards all people and compassion towards the common folk.” Reported by al-Tabarani; its men are rijal al-sahih.

Additionally, when compassion is practiced collectively, it has a contagious impact that leads to a more compassionate and peaceful society, where empathy and caring serve as the cornerstones of social cohesiveness and general well-being. In the end, adopting compassion as a way of life has transformative effects on both individuals and society as a whole.

IF ALLAH ALMIGHTY IS ALL MERCIFUL THEN, WHY DOES HE NEEDS ANIMAL SACRIFICED IN HIS NAME?

IF ALLAH ALMIGHTY IS ALL MERCIFUL THEN, WHY DOES HE NEEDS ANIMAL SACRIFICED IN HIS NAME?

IF ALLAH ALMIGHTY IS ALL MERCIFUL THEN, WHY DOES HE NEEDS ANIMAL SACRIFICED IN HIS NAME

The word "sacrifice" is called "Qurban" in Arabic and the root word for this is "Qarraba". The meaning of Qarraba is "near'. Terminologically, it implies the slaughtering of livestock, life, money, to get "taqarrub" or to getting near to Allah Almighty.  It has been a part of Islam since the first Prophet Adam (May Allah Almighty be pleased with him). The true meaning of sacrifice is to show obedience and a broad gratitude for the favors of life that Allah Almighty bestowed upon us. It is mentioned in the Glorious Quran;

And for all religion We have appointed a rite [of sacrifice] that they may mention the name of Allah over what He has provided for them of [sacrificial] animals. For your god is one God, so to Him submit. And, [O Muhammad], give good tidings to the humble [before their Lord]. (Surah Al-Hajj, 22:34).

In  Surah Al-Maidah, Allah Almighty mentioned the story of two brothers who were asked to sacrifice. It depicts the true nature of sacrifice.

And recite to them the story of Adam's two sons, in truth, when they both offered a sacrifice [to Allah ], and it was accepted from one of them but was not accepted from the other. Said [the latter], "I will surely kill you." Said [the former], "Indeed, Allah only accepts from the righteous [who fear Him]. (Surah Al-Maidah, 5:27)

In the Glorious Quran, Allah Almighty also mentioned the story of Prophet Ibrahim (May Allah be pleased with him). The Glorious Quran mention in several places that how Prophet Ibrahim (May Allah be pleased with him) loved his son Ismail. Allah Almighty wanted to test Prophet Ibrahim (May Allah be pleased with him) and it is mentioned in the Glorious Quran;

And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion, he said, "O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what you think."  He said, "O my father, do as you are commanded.  You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast." (Surah As-Saffat, 37:102)

All aforementioned verses explain that Allah Almighty wants our sacrifices but He doesn't need our sacrifices because He order us to do these things because He knows that our betterment is in His worship. Dozens of verses in the Qur'an mention that Allah (the Glorified and Merciful) does not attains anything through being praised, or getting sacrifices in His name, but rather He is the Gracious Giver to performers of good and evil-performers alike. Without getting sufficient thought to the nature of the Almighty Allah, and without ingress to His revealed words, a person misperceives the Creator as a needy. (نعوذ بالله ) Considering that the Allah Almighty is egotistically driven to demand devotional service is neither common sense nor sound logic.  So, what is the reason that He is asking for worship and also saying that He doesn't need our worship? The reason is that Allah Almighty wants us to worship Him not because of His benefit but for our benefit. And Sacrifice is a most expressive way to show the obedience and a deep sense if gratitude. Allah Almighty test those people to whom He loves more. It is the most beloved worship form of Allah Almighty.

“There is not a single deed performed by human beings on Eid Adha that is more loved by Allah s.w.t than slaughtering sacrificial animals. Indeed, the sacrificial animal will come on the Day of Resurrection with its horns, feathers and nails. And indeed, before the blood of the victim touches the ground, he (his reward) will be accepted by Allah s.w.t. So, good luck to you all with (the reward) of the victim.”

(Tirmidhi)

THE REWARD OF PATIENCE IN ISLAM

THE REWARD OF PATIENCE IN ISLAM

THE REWARD OF PATIENCE IN ISLAM

Patience has the greatest rank in the sight of Allah Almighty and it is the form of deed that will be rewarded with no limit. In this world, we face several hardships or tests and sufferings but the people who do patience (Sabr) and Believe in Allah Almighty's wisdom behind every hardship, will be rewarded with the Decree of their Lord. In the Glorious Quran Allah Almighty said;

إِنَّمَا يُوَفَّى ٱلصَّٰبِرُونَ أَجۡرَهُم بِغَيۡرِ حِسَابٖ

“Indeed, the patient will be given their reward without account."

(Al-Quran: 39: 10)

It means those who are patient will receive their rewards in full, without limit, calculation, or estimation, and Hisaab.

Islam is the complete code of life. It provides or guides us in every sphere of life. It guides us on how we have to behave in different situations. To become a true Believer by following all the guidelines of Islam, we should have a strong belief in Allah Almighty and that He loves us and will never leave us alone. Allah Almighty mentioned in the Glorious Quran;

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَعَ ٱلصَّٰبِرِين

“Indeed, Allah is with the patient.”

(Al-Quran, 2:153)

When we believe that every hardship or test is coming from Allah Almighty and Allah Almighty knows what is better for us. It makes us patient. Patience is the virtue, which authorizes the individual to proceed towards worthy goals. Many Hadiths help a Believer to become patient.

Narrated Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri and Abu Huraira:

The Prophet said, "No fatigue, nor disease, nor sorrow, nor sadness, nor hurt, nor distress befalls a Muslim, even if it were the prick he receives from a thorn, but that Allah expiates some of his sins for that." (Sahih Bukhari Volume 7, Book 70, Number 545)

Narrated Abu Huraira:

"Allah's Apostle said, "The example of a believer is that of a fresh tender plant; from whatever direction the wind comes, it bends it, but when the wind becomes quiet, it becomes straight again. Similarly, a believer is afflicted with calamities (but he remains patient till Allah removes his difficulties.) And an impious wicked person is like a pine tree which keeps hard and straight till Allah cuts (breaks) it down when He wishes." (See Hadith No. 558, Vol. 9.)

Narrated Abu Huraira:

"Allah's Apostle said, "If Allah wants to do good to somebody, He afflicts him with trials." (Sahih Bukhari, Volume 7, Book 70, Number 548)

Narrated 'Abdullah:

I visited the Prophet during his ailments and he was suffering from a high fever. I said, "You have a high fever. Is it because you will have a double reward for it?" He said, "Yes, for no Muslim is afflicted with any harm but that Allah will remove his sins as the leaves of a tree fall. (Sahih Bukhari, Volume 7, Book 70, Number 550)

TRUE MEANING OF SABR (PATIENCE) IN ISLAM

TRUE MEANING OF SABR (PATIENCE) IN ISLAM

TRUE MEANING OF SABR (PATIENCE) IN ISLAM

The Glorious Quran says, human shows usually two types of responses, when they face any tragedy or crises. The first response that most of people show is, Ooh Allah! Why you chose me? Why is this happening to me? Everyone has good life but you put me in that worse situation. So, they use tragedy to run away from Allah Almighty. The second response is the response of true Believers. They use tragedy to be a means of returning to Allah Almighty. They say, Ooh Allah! We know, You know what is better for us and the wisdom behind this calamity. We believe that there is something better for us in it. Help us to understand it. Help us to appreciate it. Help us to get over it. You are Al-Hakeem, the All wise, help us to see better in this.

Ibn al-Qayyim wrote

“When a man’s patience is stronger than his whims and desires, then he is like an angel; but when his whims and desires are stronger than his patience, then he is like a devil. If his desire for food, drink and physical relations is stronger than his patience, then he is no better than an animal. Lying, cheating and self-admiration are his most common traits and his reason is held prisoner by Shaytan, who directs it to serve evil purposes. The main cause for his sorry fate is that he ran out of patience.”

It depicts that whatever our minds want or like to do, doesn't takes top priority but what Allah Almighty wants us to do takes top priority. Our limited minds cannot understand or comprehend that whatever is happening to us is better for us. All the calamities and difficulties that are destined for us are also good because they draw us closer to Allah Almighty.

The tests by Allah Almighty are not always negative or calamities but the blessings of Him are also tests. But man considers the calamities as test and behaves in different way. Allah Almighty says it in the Glorious Quran,

And as for man, when his Lord tries him and [thus] is generous to him and favors him, he says, "My Lord has honored me."

وَأَمَّآ إِذَا مَا ٱبۡتَلَىٰهُ فَقَدَرَ عَلَيۡهِ رِزۡقَهُۥ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّيٓ أَهَٰنَنِ

But when He tries him and restricts his provision, he says, "My Lord has humiliated me."

(Surah Fajr, Verse 15-16)

Aspects of Sabr

  1. Sabr means self-control or non-indulgence, which is required for abstaining from what Allah Almighty has prohibited and from all types of sins and disobedience. An Islamic narration says, “Sabr has two parts: patience for the sake of Allah concerning what He is pleased with (i.e. acts of worship and obedience), even if it is hard on the heart and the body, and patience when avoiding what He dislikes, even if it is desired.
  2. Sabr means acceptance of Allah Almighty's commandments in our actions. For example Allah Almighty reminds us to say when we lost our loved ones or wealth; Say, “Never will we be struck except by what Allah has decreed for us.” [Quran 9:51]
  3. Sabr meaning tolerance and perseverance which is needed to fulfill the commandments of Allah Almighty. The directing of oneself towards good deeds and worship is of benefit to the soul. Knowing that what soul likes and dislikes being controlled helps us to manage it. For instance, to establish prayer under all circumstances of heat and cold, busy work schedules and health constraints.

[He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed. [Quran 67:2]

And We will surely test you until We make evident those who strive among you [for the cause of Allah] and the patient, and We will test your affairs. [Quran 47:31]

These Quranic words help us to tolerate all the difficulties with perseverance. Being a true Believer, we should ask for help from the Creator of Everything.

As Prophet Muhammad Peace be Upon Him used to say;

“O Allah, I ask You for steadfastness in all my affairs and determination in following the right path.” [An Nisa’i -Hasan]

HIJAB AS AN ISLAMOPHOBIA AND THE PERSONAL EXPERIENCES OF MUSLIM WOMEN PART (02)

HIJAB AS AN ISLAMOPHOBIA AND THE PERSONAL EXPERIENCES OF MUSLIM WOMEN

HIJAB AS AN ISLAMOPHOBIA AND THE PERSONAL EXPERIENCES OF MUSLIM WOMEN

Some people believe that the Islamic faith is oppressive to women. In the west, particularly in France, the Hijab or headscarf that many Muslim women wear has become a symbol of this perceived oppression. This blog explores the experience of wearing the Hijab of Muslim Women of Pakistan and Sri Lanka. It will draw attention that why some Muslim women consider it a mark of empowerment, what kind of motivation they have to wear the Hijab, and how the Hijab protects them.

MEMOONA ASHFAQ

Assalam o Alaikum wa-raḥmatu llāhi wa-barakātuhu. I am Memoona Ashfaq. I am a student. I am doing my graduation in BS Zoology from a great institute GC UNIVERSITY LAHORE. Today the purpose of my writing is to highlight the importance of the hijab for girls. Hijab is a symbol of modesty and protection. The Qur'an instructs Muslim women and men to dress modestly, and for some, the hijab is worn by Muslim girls and women to maintain modesty and privacy from unrelated males. I started to observe abaya and veil in my university life. Before that, I used to carry a scarf but the 1st day at the university was the 1st day when I started àbaya and hijab. And then I feel it is very comfortable and easy to carry. Initially in my 1st semester, one of my friends said it is just a start. It is a university. People just start this kind of hijab and are then unable to persuade it just because of the opinions of people around us. You will also not be able to persuade this. It was the time when I decided that I will continue to wear the hijab just because it is the beauty of our Islam. And now it's my 7th semester and still, Allah Pak blesses me strength to follow the hijab.

Hijab has three roles that should be considered by Muslim women: it should be not form-fitted, it should not be transparent, and it should not be attractive.

I, as a Muslim woman, feel very comfortable wearing the hijab. For me, the hijab means religious devotion, discipline, reflection, respect, freedom, and modernity. I am pro-democracy because for me democracy means having choices in how to live our lives. I also support and promote mutual respect between Muslim and non-Muslim women. I want the world to treat Muslim women with the same respect they treat other women, from other religions and cultures who wear headscarves such as Hindu women, Jewish women, Greek women, and Catholic nuns. The assumption that wearing a hijab is oppressive should change from an oppressive idea to a liberating one.

When it comes to Muslim women, Hijab is expressed in not only the covering of the head but also typically covering the body when dressing, without tight clothing. It can mean only showing the hands and feet and face- hence wearing long sleeves, pants, and the commonly worn headscarf, such as the hijab, which covers the head and shoulders. In South West Asia and North Africa, it is common to see women wearing Abayas, which are cloaks that cover the entire body. And why we as Muslim women are not following the basics of our religion that are safety tools for us. Because the hijab overtly indicates that she is a Muslim woman. She represents the values that she follows in Islam.

"The beautiful thing about it is that I'm representing a religion".

"So when I do something, I am seen as a Muslim woman that did something. After I talk to others, I hope they'll remember me as the hijabi who was kind, well-spoken, and outgoing. “I hope my words may have some positive impact on society. And as Muslim girls, it is our 1st priority to Follow Islam which is a very easy and beautiful religion. Thanks.

KAINAT FATIMA

I am Kainat Fatima, 22 years old and a student of microbiology. I started wearing Hijab or dupatta after my matriculation, I am still not obeying it the way I should but it is still better than before and will be perfect with time INSHALLAH.

The first thing that motivates me is the LIFE OF LADY ZAINAB ع (daughter of Hazrat Ali ع), the way she obeyed is extraordinary. Secondly, I feel better when wearing any such modest thing that I do wear western too so I can tell the comfort zone is being less exposed.

Does Hijab protect you?

Yes PERIOD.

Will you suggest other Muslim women to wear Hijab?

In this case, only advice to all the women including MYSELF is keep trying less is not the less if not stopped, everyone owes a different journey may be one day we will be obeying it perfectly so don't try to find arguments AGAINST HIJAB. Give others their time take your time. Live it up you all QUEENS.

RIDA IQBAL

My name is Rida Iqbal. I am from Karachi and 20 years old.I started wearing a hijab when I was in Class 8.

There are many things that motivate me to wear a hijab. First of all, it is the order of my Allah and his Rasool. And surely there is goodness in every order of his. In addition, in this period full of temptation, it is the best solution to avoid the evil eyes of the men. In my opinion, the beauty of every girl is in the hijab.

The hijab is the best protection for all girls. I feel very protective and comfortable when I am in a hijab. The identity of hijabis girls is unique and different from all others. Hijab represents all the girls as Muslim women.

I love wearing a hijab and I am proud of it.

AFSHEEN RIAZ

I am 17 years old and a student in my first year. I started wearing hijab from 6 class and niqab from 9th standard. Alhamdullilah

I started it because, I feel awkward and I used to see my family girls in hijab afterward. When I read Quran with Urdu translation so I learned that it is not a choice it's an obligation from Allah almighty then I started niqab. Absolutely hijab protects me because it's a barrier between me and the evil eyes of people. Surely, I will suggest girls wear it because it's a commandment of Allah. Sunnah of Hazrat Fatima(R.A) and inshallah it will become a deed which will take us to Jannah because ONE GOOD DEED WILL OPEN THE DOOR FOR OTHER GOOD DEED.

AREESHA ANSARI

My name is Areesha Ansari. I'll be 20 years old in the next month InsjaAllah. I am currently a first-year MBBS student. I started wearing a hijab when (1) I was 12 years old. I would wear it all day all night.. even in front of my family... because I felt comfortable in it... I was demotivated by many far-related individuals who thought I was being forced to wear it by my parents. I feel like hijab is my uniform...something that constantly reminds me of my boundaries, my haya, and my individuality as a Muslim.. to me it's a submission to Allah that I follow his commands.

And since the Prophet () said: If you don't feel ashamed (from Haya') do whatever you like." This hadith is sacred to me, Because haya is what brings life to the soul. Hijab indeed is a blessing and protects me from my desires and helps me in controlling them. I feel protected from shaitan at some levels only because the hijab reminds me constantly of my goal for Jannah. I as a hijabi felt comfortable and secure in it. Hijab is a command not only to women but also men. We all have to be in our uniforms and show the world that it isn't oppression.

EDUCATIONAL RIGHTS OF WOMEN IN RELIGION ISLAM

EDUCATIONAL RIGHTS OF WOMEN IN RELIGION ISLAM

EDUCATIONAL RIGHTS OF WOMEN IN RELIGION ISLAM
In Islam, education is one of the Commandments of Allah Almighty for both men and women. The first guidance revealed by Allah Almighty to the whole of humankind in His last and final revelation the Glorious Quran was not about prayer, charity, or fasting but it was about education. It was;

ٱقۡرَأۡ بِٱسۡمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ

Recite in the name of your Lord who created -

خَلَقَ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ مِنۡ عَلَقٍ.

Created man from a clinging substance

ٱقۡرَأۡ وَرَبُّكَ ٱلۡأَكۡرَمُ

Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous -

ٱلَّذِي عَلَّمَ بِٱلۡقَلَمِ

Who taught by the pen -

عَلَّمَ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ مَا لَمۡ يَعۡلَمۡ

Taught man that which he knew not

(Surah Al-Alaq: 1-5)

The first guidance was about reading for both males and females.

It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah () said:

"Seeking knowledge is a duty upon every Muslim, and he who imparts knowledge to those who do not deserve it is like one who puts a necklace of jewels, pearls, and gold around the neck of swine." (Sunan Ibn Maja: 224)

Every Muslim man or woman must acquire knowledge. The Prophet Muhammad (Peace be Upon Him) specially told the parents to educate the children, especially the daughters, and husbands must arrange a source of education for their wives, especially religious education. If parents, husbands, or guardians do not give educational Rights to a female, she has the right to go to the court to judge and demand it. If they cannot teach their girls by their selves they have to send them to a safe place to acquire an education.

Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri:

Some women requested the Prophet () to fix a day for them as the men were taking all his time. On that, he promised them one day for religious lessons and commandments.( Sahih al-Bukhari, Vol: 01, 101).

In the history of Islam, we have several women scholars, and the best example of this is Ayesha (May Allah pleased with her) the daughter of Abu Baker (May Allah pleased with him) and wife of Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be Upon Him).

The Islamic scholar and Tabi'i Urwah Bin Zubair said about Aisha: "I did not find anyone more proficient (than Aisha) in the knowledge of the Holy Quran, the Commandments of Halal (lawful) and Haram (prohibited), Genealogy, and Arabic poetry. That is why even senior companions of the Prophet used to consult Aisha in resolving intricate issues." (Recorded in Jala-ul-Afham by Ibn Qaiyem and Ibn Sa'ad, Vol.2, p.26)

The Sahaba Abu Musa al-Ashari (r) said: "Never had we (the companions) any difficulty for which we approached Aisha for the solution and did not get some useful information from her." (Recorded in Sirat-I-Aisha, on the authority of Tirmidhi, pg. 163)

The strength, character, and dedication of Hazrat Ayesha (May Allah pleased with her) to knowledge make her an inspiration for all Muslim women. She was the scholar of scholars. We also have many examples of Muslim women scholars in the history of Islam,

  • Fatimah (daughter of Prophet Muhammad PBUH)
  • Zaynab bin Ali
  • Hafsa bint Umer
  • Umm e darda as Sughra
  • Umme Hakim
  • Al-Shifa bint Abdullah
  • Hafsa bint Sirin
  • Umme Salamah
  • Aisha bint Talhah

The conclusion of all discussion is, imagine the time when people were hardly educated and most of them did not have proper awareness of education, from that time we found many Muslim women Scholars who were higher in the rank of education than many Muslim men scholars. Education for women is an integral part of the religion Islam. Muslim women have to respect the divine obligation to acquire knowledge.
